The time from when the first cut off list came out and I matched up to the cut off percentage for Pol.Sc.(HONS.) in Sri Venkateshwara College, I was overwhelmingly happy. Soon began the admission procedure wherein I was really excited to enter my college for the first time. Being a part of such a reputed college was like a dream come true. The wait after the admission process was long and the only thing on my mind was 21st July.
After a long wait came the day and I was nervous about the starting of a new phase of my life but at the same time excited about going for shopping to purchase a full new wardrobe for college, going to college and meeting new people. It was a mix of many emotions.
On first day of college we had our orientation, which was very good and informative. We got to know a lot about our college, the faculty of various departments and the professors who would be teaching us for the next three years. The first day at college was a new experience altogether, stepping into a new phase of life outside the protected environment of school, all by myself. I was apprehensive about meeting my seniors and had a fear of being ragged, but everything went well, even because I had a few friends from my school who had joined the same college and the same course as me. With the college routine I made quite a few friends in class and am still in the process of making new ones.
The professors were very helpful and they guided us about everything, what we should do during the next three years and what we are not supposed to do. I thought college life would mean freedom, but my misconceptions were cleared soon. We have to study, prepare for tests and make notes on our own, I have realized that life is not easy anymore.
I am still to explore the whole college since we have a huge campus and the library at college, hope it turns out to be a good experience!!!
The best part of our college is that it has huge market in front of it, and whenever I have no classes I have a place where I can hang out with my friends. As of now my college life is going good and I hope the same for future.
